mcconaugHEY!

So since school has started so has Tiger Football! To be quite honest, I'm not the rabid fan I was my freshman and sophomore years but I still enjoy going to home games. The first home game was on September 12th against Vanderbilt. I passed up on tailgaiting to study but headed to the stadium about an hour and a half before kickoff to enjoy the pregame show. Guess who was there also enjoying the festivities? Mr. Matthew McConaughey himself! I am not really a fan of his but no one can deny his good looks and Southern charm, and it's always exciting to see famous people even if I tell myself if I ever met one again I would act like I'd never heard of him/her. It was kind of funny that when I was trying to spot him I instantly recognized his stance and then commenced to take a buttload of pictures. Enjoy (Becky and Leena, please stop drooling :P)!Matthew McConaughey and Ronald McDonald in the same shot!
And then LSU's own Shaquille O'Neal came and congratulated the men's basketball team for something. In this shot he is hugging their coach Trent Johnson and the baseball coach, Paul Manieri is looking on (in the gray jacket).
Shaq is one huge dude. Seriously he is massive and frightening and I would not want to meet him unless I was wearing Iron Man's suit.
The game itself wasn't too exciting and it rained almost the whole time. I thought was prepared with the yellow hand-me-down NorthFace rain jacket I brought, but I guess somewhere between passing from Ben to Tim and then from Tim to me it stopped working. So I got soaked anyways and would have been better off without it especially since all of my friends were teasing me about wearing a NorthFace jacket. I had to explain that it was originally my brother's who has actually CLIMBED mountains and therefore has every right to own such an article of clothing, as opposed to the group of people at LSU who wear NorthFace who have never seen snow and only wear it because everyone else in their fraternity/sorority does. But I digress. Despite the rain it was fun to be back in Death Valley surrounded by 92,000 of my closest friends (including Adam and Erica, who I haven't seen since their wedding in August...cough).

Wow, Shaq really is massive. You must have had good seats, or a pretty good zoom on your camera. Ethan was wearing his LSU t-shirt (that I got at a garage sale for 50 cents) yesterday!

Why did Matthew McConaughey get to stand on the sidelines with the coaches and really famous people like Ronald McDonald? Does he have connections to LSU?

Would you like to tell me who this McConaughey is? I've never heard of him, so I could have faked that pretty well. Shaq is huge, Ronald's hair is a little too bright, and Adam needs a new shaver. Oh, and does Sarah need a real rain jacket? I've got Ben's old Adidas jacket and it works just fine.

The boys were up when I checked this post out and they got a kick out of seeing Ronald McDonald on the field. Of course Jonathan wanted to know if Ronald threw chicken nuggets out to the players when they got hungry!!

Thanks for finally posting the pictures! COOL! Mom, Matthew has starred in several romatic comedy type movies.

Juliette just said, "HAPPY MEAL!"

I totally recognized Mr. Matthew M by his stance too, the moment I saw the first pic. What's a fool doing coming to an LSU game in an orange shirt? Ha. Just kidding. He is a good looking man, and Shaq is ONE HUGE dude! Loved all the pictures!

Those are some serious celebrity sightings and some great pictures. When I was in high school, I saw Julia Roberts and Brad Pitt in a Las Vegas casino (when they were on break from filming Ocean's 11), took a picture, and thought the security guard was seriously going to destroy my camera. Ever since then, I've shied away from taking celebrity photos :).

Sorry my old jacket has not lived up to its Gore-Tex warranty. But I'm glad you had fun spotting all the celebrities at the game.
