youtube goodness

Here are some videos that make me feel better about myself because it's nice to know that even professional musicians mess up every once in awhile. Each one is known as a 'fail'.

Now if you think that last one was some poor middle school band, you're wrong. I found out that it was a group of British students called Portsmouth Sinfonia, who gathered together to play music in the 1970s. Anyone could join, but you had to either be a non-musician or play an instrument completely unfamiliar to you. Now does that sound like fun or what?? If you've got about 10-15 minutes to waste and you'd like to listen to some more of their ear-piercing tunes, check out these links (some are better, I mean worse, than others):

Oh my goodness...Joseph and I can't stop laughing! That one where the guy knocked his music off the stand was so funny! It is so funny to listen to but I feel really sorry for those poor musicians who made those terrible mistakes! YIKES!

These are great! Also Sprach Zarasthustra (2001 A Space Odyssey) by the amateur band was tear-inducing hilarious. I look forward to listening to more of them.

Maybe there's hope for me in the Portsmouth Sinfonia. I like them best of all.

I especially like the Messiah flub because the Hallelujah Chorus was one of my favorite pieces to sing in boys' glee club, junior and senior choir. It's amazing that the choir was able to stay pretty much on key despite the disastrous boo-boo.
